HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH ANIMALS: Alice Austen House, Staten Island

How to Photograph Animals

Want to improve your photographs of Animals?  Come at 1:30 P.M. for this three hour discussion will show you how using any equipment from Cell phone cameras, to point and shoot cameras to DSLRs.  Many animal subjects will be discussed including  Birds, Bees and Bears.
Animal behavior will be discussed and basic animal photography techniques that apply no matter your equipment.  The discussion will then focus on likely places to find animal subjects starting at home with your pets, the backyard and expands to Zoos, the Park, Wilderness Expeditions and will include a brief overview of Underwater Photography. 
An opportunity for live photography will be provided.
A Resource list will be covered and a self-assignment will be suggested.  An optional companion e-book download of the presentation will be available for sale.
BIOGRAPHY
John Ares has been photographing animals since age seven.  A professional photographer, John trained as a biologist and has a Masters Degree in Marine Sciences.  He has taught Underwater Photography, Photoshop and Lightroom.  He shoots Nature, Underwater, Travel, Portraits, Fine Art and Lifestyle.
John is a member of the NY Underwater Photographers Society (NYUPS),  American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), National Association of Photoshop Professionals(NAPP) and is a contributor for DivePhotoGuide.com.  His home page is www.JohnAres.com
